🟥 Red alert.
- Definition: high similarity to milled papers. There is a low false-positive rate on red alerts.
🟨 Orange alert.
- Definition: some similarity to milled papers. There is a low false-negative rate on orange alerts (this means that we necessarily allow a higher false-positive rate among the orange alerts).
- Our recommendation: if you see either alert, proceed with caution. Where possible, we recommend checking the authors’ publication histories, as well as checking the veracity of the content carefully before deciding whether to use the research.
🟩 Green alert.
- Definition: we did not detect any significant similarity to known-milled papers. Proceed as normal.
In all cases, users may provide feedback via the browser extension. This feedback will be used to improve the service for everyone.
